Rambling or Reflecting, I know not which

Peace. It's something we all strive for. True peace can only come from God; whether it is inner peace or world peace. By reading and studying Scripture I am assured that if I focus on Him I will have peace because GOD WILL GIVE IT TO ME.

The LORD will give strength to His people; The LORD will bless His people with peace. ~ Psalm 29:11

Trust. It's not easy. It's like any other relationship; it takes time to build. But by staying in His Word, praying and being still long enough to hear His voice and feel His Spirit in me, it becomes easier. Almost second nature.

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you: because he trusts in you. ~ Isaiah 26:3

Never have I been so challenged as the last 5 1/2 months. I know I've said this before and many of you (maybe all of you) might be tired of hearing it but I can't say it enough. Without knowing Christ and fully, 100% trusting in Him, I would have gone crazy since my Amy's death.

I still cry and at the stupidest things! Last night we watched an old episode of Doctor Who; the final one with Rose. When they were separated by that white wall in the end, both of them with their faces pressed on opposite sides as if they could feel the others presence, I thought of my sweet Amy and the tears that had been slowly trickling down my cheeks became a gushing waterfall.

For me, this world is my white wall; all that separates us. I close my eyes and I can feel her. She's just on the other side. And here I am, grieving the separation while at the same time feeling at peace, trusting my Lord, confident in knowing that I shall be reunited with her one day.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. ~ John 14:27

  1. Such a beautiful witness and testimony you give Anne. The peace that passes all understanding is in HIM and knowing that Amy is only a breath away, in His Peace must be very comforting. We'll see Amy Girl again one day. Peace of the Lord. xoxoxS

  3. Yes, soaking in the Word and God's presence will bring about true peace and trust. And I love that episode of Doctor Who! It's so sad, and yet so good. Someday soon you'll get to be with your Amy again, so rejoice, and praise Him! He is good!

    1. Hey Gwen, We've been enjoying watching from the Doctor before David Tennant and working our way to the present one (although we have seen Matt Smith's first two season already). Some of the episodes are so emotional!
Thanks for your encouraging words. You're a sweet friend!

  4. Doctor Who is a staple at our house. It's how my oldest daughter and husband got together as they hung out to watch the show. We had a Tardis cookie jar for their wedding table centerpiece.

So sorry for your loss, Anne. I am coming over via FB this morning. Thank you for your honesty in pain and your memories of your sweet girl.

  6. My heart goes out to you, Anne. Grief can be so difficult to understand and even harder to endure. May you feel the loving arms of our Lord upholding you as you travel the cloudy days ahead. And yes, there will be tears. Even torrents at times. But that's OK. He knows what you're going through, tears and all. Like us, He wept when He lost a loved one.

    Hugs, my friend.

  9. What a beautiful testimony of faith and trust. I went back and read some of your story of Amy and your loss of this precious girl. I'm touched by your open heart and reliance on God. He is there. Always. In the thick of all our sorrows, I have seen Him and heard His voice of strength. And I know you have too.

  10. Your love for Amy is pure and beautiful! I'm reminded of the verses in Isaiah 49: "Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne?
Though she may forget, I will not forget you. See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me." Praying peace and healing for you, Anne. Blessings!
