Random 5 Friday

1. Not sure if I posted this picture before or not, but I love Roses and don't think I could ever see enough photos of their blossoms or blooms!

2. It's almost the end of September! Can you believe it?! Three months from now we will already have celebrated Christmas!!! Where has the year gone?

3. I must figure out a way to get in the kitchen. Pumpkin recipes are calling my name.

4. On occasion, I have been in a hospital that served good food. Really good food. Hard to believe but it is true. The one I was in last week...not so much. Bleh!

5. Anyone see Castle on Monday night? No spoilers, but I think Beckett is going to bust out laughing and tell him she is pulling his leg. You know, to teach him a lesson. It could be funny :)

Any exciting plans this weekend?

  1. I did see Castle ... ready for next weeks episode. Time sure flies the older I get. I love roses, too. Autumn -- pumpkins and apples ... yippee!

  2. Oh yeah, this year went by too quickly, the spring came very late in Germany, the summer did not take place ... but the roses bloom until the first frost. This is often in my garden: gray November or December already, but somewhere lit a rose. I am grateful and delighted me.

No, we have no plans for my loved one is not doing well. I'm sick at foot ... I still hope a little to enjoy the autumn sun.
    Have a nice weekend :-)

  3. I didn't see Castle. I watch it mostly in reruns. I need to start watching the new shows.

    The rosebud is gorgeous!

I don't know where this year went--September has gone by in a flash!

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  6. Yes this year as gone by way to fast. I am enjoying Fall and not looking forward to winter, cold, and snow.
Your rose is gorgeous. It would look lovely framed and hung on the wall.
    Enjoy your weekend!

  10. So, so pretty, Anne! I don't remember seeing this photo so it was a lovely surprise for me :) Pumpkin recipes are calling my name too....everything on Pinterest is pumpkin right now :) I hope you're feeling better, sweet friend, and healing up nicely. Lets see, I don't have too much going on this weekend - maybe some reading since it's been cold and raining. We got some snow mixed in with the rain this evening. Hugs to you!

  11. I love the coloring in this rose photo. Beautiful indeed! I've never seen Castle. Sounds like I should check it out! I hope your foot is healing. In my experience this year with my hubby in the hospital 3 times, they try but don't produce much that's tasty. Have a good weekend!

  13. Lovely rose! I've only seen Castle once and enjoyed it, I'm not sure why I don't watch more regularly. Hope you get to bake some pumpkin goodies soon - yum!

  14. Anne, I discovered your blog because of a Facebook post you made yesterday on Mark's question about giveaways. I love your blog and immediately subscribed by e-mail.

The Oliver Wendell Holmes quote at the top of this post reminds me of a Laura Frantz book I'm currently reading, as she begins each chapter with a similar quote.

As for Castle, I enjoy the show but am about 18 episodes behind in viewing them on my DVR. This lets me enjoy them over the summer and also has the benefit of letting me view the season finale cliffhanger and the first new season episode back to back. I'm just a little neurotic that way!
