Tuesday Muse

Update on my surgery: Everything went well but there was more damage than expected. I now have a metal plate and two pins holding my heel bone together. Apparently there are large incisions on both sides of my foot that will leave a lot of scaring. No weight bearing on that leg for 10 weeks seems like an eternity but today marks one week, so only 9 to go!

Pain meds work some but not as effective as I thought they would be. They make me unbelievably loopy and woozy. I'm not able to stay on the computer for long, or do anything else for that matter, before I am dozing off or holding my head over the trash can. Yeah, it ain't pretty but the doctor thinks I will have a successful recovery and be able to walk normally in about 9-12 months. Here's hoping and praying he is right!

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. I would love to be able to get around to each individual blog and leave comments on your gorgeous images but I don't know that I will be able to this week.

Autumn is my favorite time of year! I know I have said this before but I am thoroughly enjoying the cooler temps and adding the comfy old quilt to the bed :) It's snuggle weather!

My son mentioned he is ready for some Russian Tea....maybe I can talk him into making some this weekend.

What's your favorite beverage when the weather starts to turn cooler? I bet some of y'all are getting close to having some snow, huh?

  3. Oh shoot Anne I was thinking of another foot not yours, but still that is a lot for one heel to have to deal with-hope the time frames are wrong and you heal faster than predicted.

  7. Glad to hear things went good with your surgery. Take good care of yourself and heal.

I don't change to a fall beverage, but drink cappuccino all year round. I have a personal favorite concoction of stuff.

We are not ready to think about snow!

  11. Sending you warm healing wishes your way! Autumn is a beautiful time of year, and I love it, too! So I hope you can try to get in some blog time to visit the sights and even the smells, (you can almost smell the apple pies baking), and enjoy them with a mug of hot apple cider, stirred with a cinnamon stick!!! BE WELL! Aloha

  14. Anne, Your photography is so beautiful. Praying for recovery and wanting you to feel better. Today's message at the top, Heb. 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about ... reminds me of the chalkboard message where the nurses sign in giving mammos ~ 2 Cor 4:8a. A ditty I got from another friend, that summed up "look on the bright side ~ we're on the upside of the grass." A little cheer for you today. My favorite winter drink is Mystic Chai Spiced from Sams in a tall cup of hot skim milk, adding extra creamy Reddi-wip 15 cal/serving whipped cream topping with a little nutmeg on top ~ y-u-m. <3 Kathleen ~ Lane Hill House

  15. Another beautiful photo! I'm still praying for you, Anne. Each day should get a bit better than the last. I certainly can empathize with you. I'm also enjoying this wonderful cool fall weather and the changes in color all around us. Now, about that Russian tea.... I haven't had any in a long time, and I'm sure glad you reminded me. I think I may get my recipe out and make some myself! Sounds wonderful right now! Take is easy and get plenty of rest!
