Words...

I prefer Thumper's wise words above to "Bite your tongue."
My sister says the latter is akin to having a bloody nub
and that just sounds gross.

Either way, the lesson is be careful with our words,
watch what we say, or like the Bible says in Proverbs 16:24,
Gracious words are like a honeycomb,
sweetness to the soul and health to the body."

Yesterday was a bad day so I'm reminding myself that
today is a new day; a day for apologies
a day for forgiveness,
a day for right words.

  3. Anne,
I hope you have a wonderful day. Learn from yesterday and make the most of today, it is a new slate.

I agree with you, some days our tongue speaks before our minds have time to process our thoughts. I try to practice the "If I don't have something nice to say, don't say anything." As long as I am not overreacting and/or angry, I think I do okay.

I like the Proverbs you shared.

  7. Hello Ann,
Thought I would drop by and say hi!
I like what Grandma Barb said "say something nice behind someones back" good food for thought.
My day started off not so good with a text that set me wrong. I gave it over to the Lord, and it wasn't 10 minutes later I received another text from that person realizing she was wrong. Our God is good, and He is God!
I pray you are doing some better.

    Blessings!

  11. I appreciate all the lovely comments! I'm truly honored that each of you takes time to leave me encouraging words. I've needed several do-overs while going through this surgery and pain. Thankfully, the Lord has blessed me with forgiving family & friends :) Praying y'all are having a blessed week!

  12. Hi Anne! Just read this today and it was perfect timing! I had a bad day yesterday and used my words unwisely. I understand how trying it is when we are carrying an extra load of healing and dealing with our own heavy stuff. Forgiving family is the saving grace in times like these. Praying you will continue to find healing and grace in the journey, Keeping you in prayer sweet friend.
    Hugs,
    Kelly
