Exciting Times for our Family

I dropped off the radar this month and I haven't regretted it a bit. On April 17th, our oldest son graduated from USAF BMT (Basic Military Training). We drove 21 hours to San Antonio, TX to share in the joy of this huge accomplishment in his life.

After 7 1/2 weeks, this is the moment I was waiting for...that first hug!
It is an overwhelming moment, to say the least.

This was taken just before saying farewell on Sunday. Our seven days flew by and the next time we see him, it will be late summer or early autumn. This moma heart is already missing him something fierce!

If you have a loved one in the Armed Services, thank them for me, would you? And to all those who have served in the past, Thank You from the bottom of my heart!

It's a great sacrifice and privilege to serve our country.

~Blessings for a joyful week~

*As time goes on, I will share more photos from our trip but I won't be sharing any face photos of our graduate. It's a security thing and they asked us not to, so I'm complying with the rules on this one.
Trust me when I say he is as handsome as can be in his uniforms! :)

  4. Anne, I can only imagine this as I have never had to deal with having a child go off to serve their country. I do have memories of my brother going overseas in the Air Force. It was a time of peace and things were a little different back then. God bless your son for his service and you as well as you pray for him and wait for his return.

  8. Congratulations to your son for completing his training. God bless him and keep him during his years of service. Our son-in-law finished his active duty with the Marines last August. I'll never forget the graduation festivities at Parris Island. Amazing experience and I'm glad you were able to go and experience your son's.
