Falling Down Fence

These photos were taken with my phone camera while I took a long leisurely walk on the last pretty day this week, Tuesday. Now our weather is all stormy with winds, rain and billowing surf. Not good conditions to go out in, in my book.

This fence is supposed to keep non-paying people out of the fishing pier area at our local beach.

Hmmm....If it's like this now, what will it look like after Hurricane Joaquin arrives this weekend?!

If you think of it, please say a pray for those of us in the path of this CAT 3 storm. I know I'm praying it shifts eastward a little more so we don't get the brunt of it.

  2. we call those weather fences, to protect the beaches when it snows and also from blowing sand. in the condition they are in, they will be of no help to the beaches if this storm hits.

here at the shore they have been working around the clock on the dunes and fences, trying to prepare. if it's anything like superstorm sandy, that will NOT help us.

your images are gorgeous, they look so similar to our shoreline!!!

    1. We had tropical storm-like conditions last weekend and now the hurricane. I don't see them doing anything extra here to shore up the beach. :(

Thanks for stopping by. I'm going to enjoy perusing your blog!

  6. Oh, this is a beautiful beach and I like these fences that keep the dunes in place (and people out). I hope there isn't a lot of damage from the hurricane and will pray it goes farther out to sea and lives and property are spared. Blessings to you.

  9. Great shots for Good Fences today. We are about 3 hours inland and it's still supposed to get pretty bad here. Do you live near the shore or just visitng? Praying for safety for all in it's path!

    1. Thanks, Debby! ON the shore, about 3/4 of a mile down the beach from where these pictures were taken. I am praying ALL of us stay safe and sound. In NC, where 2/3 of my children are, they will be getting horrendous rain and flooding.

  14. Hope the storms are not bad. You'll be in my prayers. Very nice captures of the fence, it is still lovely in its decrepit state...but I hope someone gets around to fixing it soon!

    1. Hey Bethany, Thank you! The Lord certainly answered the prayers and sent Joaquin eastward. Just some normal stormy weather this weekend. :)
I don't know how long the fence has been down. I'm planning to walk back down there when the weather clears, maybe on Tuesday.
