Perhaps one of the best legal thrillers I have ever read!

This international suspense novel was as good as its reviews!

“Once Upon a Prince” – Rachel Hauck

A “home run” in every sense of the word! I laughed and I cried; a fabulous contemporary romance!

“Undeniably Yours” – Becky Wade

What a great love story with a surprising fast-paced ending!

“Stealing the Preacher” - Karen Witemeyer

This book had one of the best first chapters ever! And the ending was pretty amazing too!

And I am almost finished reading  . . . . . . . . “Tangled Ashes” – Michele Phoenix

A surprisingly complex story line whose web of characters fit together beautifully! I am impressed!

Some great books . . . . and the summer is only half-way over!

Wow, Rebecca is a reading machine so far this summer! I'm pretty sure she's finished Tangled Ashes already too. I'm a little late getting this posted :) 

My tumbling over stack of books is about to get messier! A couple of these look right up my alley. Have you read any of these books? If not, what's on your summer reading list?

Blossoms

I miss blossoms on the trees. It's not that I don't enjoy summer and the fruit that the tree bears, but now fall is right around the corner. School starts soon and then it gets cold. I don't like the cold. So today I am choosing to be transported back to when the weather was perfect and the blossoms were at their peak.

Inspirational {Sunday}

Beth Vogt is a wonderfully multi-talented author and her newest three-part series on her blog is called In My Words: Turning Back from Turning My Back on God. I urge you to click on the series title and spend a little time getting to know Beth, as well as being encouraged and refreshed in your spirit. She is honest and transparent!

After I finished the series, I was inspired by Beth's words to make this graphic. For the last 14 months this is where I have been; standing at the feet of Jesus, asking Him for mercy as I travel this bumpy road of grief. My heart is healing but it doesn't mean there are no dark moments. At times I have felt like a blanket has been thrown over my head and all light is extinguished. But then my eyes focus and I can see a glimmer. I know it is Him showing me how to navigate these waters to keep me from sinking in to a dark oblivion.

God is good to give me just what I need, right when I need it and I needed to hear what Beth had to share this week. My heart and mind have been extra heavy recently but now they are lifted toward the Son. I'm basking in his presence, his grace, his mercy.

Random 5 Friday

1. I love Black-eyed Susan's! The wildflower packet I used to sow my front flower bed this year is finally yielding some fruit, or should I say flowers. They don't seem to mind all the rain.

2. Speaking of rain, we have had at least 21 days straight of the stuff. How about you? Any rain lately?

3. Sometimes you just have to clean out the chicken coop and put in fresh sand even if it's raining. Yep. I did that yesterday. It wasn't fun but somebody had to do it. The chickens appreciate it though. At least, I say they do :)

4. There is nothing sweeter, nothing, than when my four year old grandson comes up to me, wraps his sweet little arms around my neck, puts his downy cheek against mine and softly whispers...I love you, Nonna.  

5. I co-wrote an article with an author friend of mine for Book Fun Magazine. It was published in this month's issue.
