♥ HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY ♥

microsoft images & picmonkey edge frosting

My sweetheart and I don't like the crowds on the big ♥ day so we are going out to dinner this weekend. We'd probably do that anyway but so as not to be Valentine Scrooges, we'll count it as Valentine's Day.

I always give my children a sweet treat. I've been combing Pinterest for ideas but with this lousy cold, nothing sounds good. Hmmm...guess I'd better figure something out before dessert time, huh?

Do you celebrate Valentine's Day? If so, what special something do you like to give your sweetheart? Or do you give Valentine's to your children?

  3. Hi Anne,

    Happy Valentine's Day, my friend!

My husband and son took me out to supper Tuesday night. We're like you and don't like big crowds so we don't go out on Valentine's night :) So I will make a yummy spaghetti meal and homemade bread.

    Hugs,
    Stephanie

  5. Visiting from the Valentine Blog Hop. You have a lovely blog. We share several interests - books, faith, vintage, rural life . . .

I'm now following you on Pinterest, also. Good to meet you. Happy Valentine's Day.

And in answer to your question - I have always done something for my children for Valentine's Day, but now that they are out of the nest and spread apart, it's harder and I really slacked off getting to the post office - so they'll be celebrating late. :)

  8. Yes I always did something for my children until they moved so far away:( BTW after fonts are downloaded, go to your download folder and move them into your font folder.Start>Control Panel>Font Folder.... After you do this it should show up into whatever program you are using. Have a great day.

  10. We, too, don't usually do dinner on VDay. Partly cause we go to dinner for my BDay on the 9th, but partly because we have a traditional filet mignon and twice baked potatoes tradition! Gotta stick to those traditions! Happy VDay to you and hope you get to enjoy some chocolates!

  11. Hello, you have a lovely blog! I'm visiting from the Boost My Blog Party--nice to meet you!

We don't do a lot for Valentine's--exchange cards, go out to eat. My husband did get me a bouquet of lovely lavender roses, though, and some chocoolate--he did too much! :-)

    happy valentine's day!

  14. Hi Anne,
(My middle name is Ann, so I love your name) :)

Everyone in my house was given chocolate today. Although my husband has never been one to celebrate Valentine's Day in the past, I've always given the kids a little Valentine treat.

We have all consumed way too much sweets today for sure!

Have a wonderful dinner this weekend with your sweetheart!

    Happy Valentine's Day,
    Marissa

  17. Yes, we celebrate. It's the day we became a couple, and that's most certainly worth a celebration. Some years we make a special date of it, other times we have a quiet one at home. But we always remember the day he sent me a love letter and changed my world. xx

  18. I'm with you! No desire to fight the crowds on the 14th~ We celebrate by putting lots of thought and love into our cards with handwritten notes. We sprinkle some festiveness around the house with special hand towels in the bathrooms, and a sweet message on the kitchen chalkboard. Like to make breakfast special that day, even if it just means fresh strawberries or special bread for toast. This year our college age daughter got up early and made us buttermilk pancakes :)

    1. We've made each other cards in the past but now we usually don't do anything. Kind of turned off by all the commercialism :) But we did go out to eat Saturday for lunch with our boys. Now that's what I miss about my daughter being married...when she was home, she cooked!
