I love this barn! I pass by it every time I drive to town but I never took a picture from this angle until today. I had to climb up an embankment behind a little store to get it, but it was worth it. If you look closely, you'll see a wire star above the barn doors. Love it!

Hop on over there to see more beautiful barns from all the world!
~Have a blessed day~
I can see why you love it! I love the old silo, or what is left of it, too.
ReplyDeleteI actually think this is still a working farm, Rose! I see cattle out in the fields certain times of the year, and there are other barns besides this one on the property that are busy with people and farm equipment. So I am guessing they may still use the silo.
DeleteBeautiful photo, I love the old silo too. Looks like it was a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cathy! It was a gorgeous day here today. I stopped for this shot after my son and I went walking at the community track/garden. It was refreshing to get out and enjoy the sunshine even with a nip in the air. :-)
DeleteIt is a lovely barn and worth the effort to take a photo. I like the brick silo too.
ReplyDeleteYes, after I uploaded the photo I realized that I would have climbed even higher if needed. It's a beautiful scene from the embankment, but I just wanted to focus on the oldest barn. :-)
DeleteWow a brick silo! I love southern barns, they often go unpainted and have great rusty roofs. Keep them coming. Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteBrick silos are quite common where we live. I'll have to post a couple of photos of some that have been left standing after the barns are gone. And yes, many people don't paint their barns around here. I like the way they weather au naturel.
DeleteNice! Love your photos, Anne.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Dora! I appreciate you taking time to stop by and leave a comment. :-)
DeleteA nice large one, and a silo makes everything better, especially a BRICK one! Thanks for finding and sharing it with us this week!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting, Amy! Love seeing all the cool barns. So cool that we had a yellow one this week!
DeleteGreat image. I love the brick silo. I've never found one of these around here.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Felicia! Brick silos are quite common where I live, although most of them are older. Thanks for stopping by today!
DeleteThis is a great barn and silo, Anne! Love the trees, too!
ReplyDeleteHey Ellen, There are many more trees around the barn but I wanted to just focus on the silo and barn. It's a beautiful farm. Nice to see you again. :)
DeleteI can see why you love this barn, Anne - it has such beautiful features. Hugs and blessings!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Stephanie! There are so MANY barns in our rural area that are lovely. Have a great Wednesday, my friend. :)
DeleteThe brick silo really stands out against the unpainted barn wood!
ReplyDeleteHey Barb, yes, it sure does! And it helps that it was a nice sunny day. Finally!!! :-)
DeleteAnne, this is a beautiful barn and like you I love the star above the door. And the brick silo too. This would make a nice painting.
