It's been over 30 years since I picked up a crochet hook. I've never worked with bulky yarn either but it is so soft and lovely that I couldn't resist it. I've taken so many rows out and re-done them, it's ridiculous. I'm determined to make this scarf with even rows though. I'm getting close to the length I want it to be, then it's on to making tassels. I know, it's a hot project for summer. I actually started back in late winter, but life became busy and I didn't finish it. My plan is to get it done before September so I can start on a couple of other crochet projects that I want to make for Christmas gifts. I got a spectacular deal on yarn at newly opened thrift store in our little town!!
How's your summer going? Are you working on any special projects? Leave me a comment and let's chat!
I can knit but have never been able to crochet, sadly.
ReplyDeleteMy mother could make anything with any needle! She taught my sister and I how to sew, knit, crochet, etc. I'm not passionate about those arts like my sister but I do get the 'bug' on occasion and just have to make something. :)
DeleteThis looks very pretty! Good for you picking up the crochet hook again! I learned to knit from my mom, and after making MANY sweaters, I picked up the crochet hook and learned that from my aunt. That is my favorite now and I usually only get the bug to crochet in the winter months, or right before the holidays. I do make some gifts usually every Christmas, like mug mats, table centerpieces and mats for potted flowers. Once I get on a roll, it's hard to stop! Hugs.. Marilyn
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's super soft and snuggly feeling. It's been so busy (and HOT) lately, I haven't picked it up. I really need to though. I'm so close to finishing. :)
DeleteThis made me laugh because sometimes summer is the only time I feel like sewing or needlework, but
ReplyDeleteEvery time I get inspired I also have the squirrel disorder that says oh look at that!! Just keeping busy with a project helps us relax and slow down in a different way. I am learning to sew again after 30 plus years! I think of you often !!!! Blessing of health and peace and joy to you Anne... Hugs, Roxy
hey Roxy! I'm pretty sure I have the squirrel disorder too. LOL My sister and I both purchased notebooks for our sewing and call them our Squirrel Journals because we are so easily distracted by fabric, thread, and ideas!!! It's quite fun though, and brings much pleasure. Sitting still is so important. Take care, lovely friend! {{hugs}}
