Believe it or not, this bee was only about 1/2" long. He was enjoying some sunbathing last week out on our deck. I zoomed in with my camera, tucked in my elbows, held my breath and snapped the photo. Not too shabby if I say so myself. I couldn't resist playing around with the processing in Picmonkey and created the cool image on the right by changing the color balance.
I'm loving all the autumn colors on everyone's blogs and in some of the new headers. I made one last week and was quite pleased with it. Won't be long and we'll be thinking about Christmas!
How many of you are early shoppers? Last minute?

Hello Anne,
ReplyDeleteThis shoot is fantastic, it is so cool, I also like the way you changed the color on the image. I also hold my breath when I'm zooming in order to not to move and have a great shoot.
I love fall colors too, and the picture of the tree in your header looks great. But you are right, very soon lots of people will be thinking about Christmas and will start to get ready for it. I'm one of those people if I may say.
I wish you a wonderful Autumn. God bless you.
Laura :-)
Nice shot of the bee. Amazing what software editing programs can do today. Those special effects are cool. Thanks for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful bee photo!
ReplyDeleteGreetings, RW & SK
Just look at those wings! Such a great shot. I'd love to get one like that.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot and edit!
ReplyDeleteamazing shot and edit, love it :)
ReplyDeleteNeat bee picture and the B&W edit is perfect, Anne!
ReplyDeleteI am NOT ready to think about Thanksgiving let alone Christmas. I prefer to do the shop all year and avoid the crowded stores thing. The Hubby is the opposite.
wow this is a great shot, and the changes give it a pencil drawing feel...well done. I'm an early shopper due to the fact a lot of my gifts need to cross the Atlanic.
ReplyDeleteWhoa, the two pictures are so different from each other yet you used the same picture - I love it :) Isn't it hard to believe it's the 15th of October?! I like to get my Christmas shopping done early so that I can enjoy the month of December by decorating the home, reading Christmas books by the fire, and playing board games with family.
ReplyDeleteHave a sweet day, dear Anne!
I wonder if that might be some kind of wasp? It's so long. :)
ReplyDeleteChristmas? I can't believe it's almost Halloween!
Great shot! A guy in a dark museum told me to tuck in my elbows. Now I (usually remember to) do that and it helps. We've made Thanksgiving plans. I can't quite focus on Christmas yet, but it's not that far away. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of the bee and the BW processing was cool looking. I've started doing just a little Christmas shopping. Usually I wait till last minute.
ReplyDeleteReally really great shot of the bee! The BW one is cool too!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Everyone! I'm so far behind on my correspondence this week. I hope you'll all accept this one reply. I appreciate each of you coming by and encouraging me with such kind words. I love photography and sharing the wonders of God's beautiful creation :) Have a blessed weekend!
