and get a photo for the challenge.
Oh wait. That's not how the diddy goes.
But if you know how it goes, I bet you're singing it in your
head now. Go ahead. Sing it out loud :)
The CameraShy Take52 Photography Challenge last week was Trio.
I thought it would be easy to find something to photograph
but I looked all week and saw...nothing.
I knew if I waited long enough inspiration would eventually strike.

Finally, while standing in line at the grocery store, I saw a
package of Tic Tac® fruity mints and knew I had found my 'Trio'.
They're bright and colorful and fun looking.
Actually photographing them...not so easy.
I have white tile countertops that I thought would be way
whiter than what they actually photographed.
They came out kind of gray looking. Yuck!
After posting my photo, I got a couple of good tips from another
challenger on how to fix that post-processing. I think I need
to use a secondary source of light, too. Maybe a light box.
I'm pleased with the angle, DOF (depth of field) and reflections.
I would have liked a little more sharpness to the image. That
could be balancing the camera on the edge of the counter.
I probably should have set up my tripod.
But that's what the challenge is all about.
Learning.
Are you a photography enthusiast?
What have you learned lately?
Any tips are appreciated!
I do like the DOF in this photo. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Michelle! There's always so much to learn :)
DeleteI LOVE this!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Elizabeth!
Deletei feel like it has been years since i had a tic tac. as a kid i loved them. all the flavors. ( :
ReplyDeleteHey Beth, I only eat the Wintergreen ones. These were just for photo taking until my youngest son saw them...then they disappeared! :)
DeleteMmm... I love the orange Tic Tacs and always eat them in one sitting :)
ReplyDeleteI think your photo is great, Anne, and love the way you captured them. Beautiful photo, dear friend. Hugs to you!
Hey Steph, Thanks! I could eat a whole container of Wintergreen ones :)
DeleteMakes me want to go buy Tic Tacs right away!
ReplyDeleteThey do have the effect, don't they. Or is it affect? I always get those mixed up but you know what I mean :)
DeleteHi Anne,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this post. I love taking photos but I'm no photographer. My husband gifted a professional quality Nikon to me at Christmas. I'm still trying to learn how to use it properly. giggle! He even brought home a Popular Photography magazine. Inside I found an add for the New York Institute of Photography, they offer online courses www.NYIP.ED/POP
Something else I found interesting was a software they mentioned called Photoshop CC's Shake Reduction. It actually gets rid of blur and brings back sharp details you didn't think you had. See how it works here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66yKdIXMAu8
I am definitely going to try a Tic Tac shoot. I think your shot turned out great, looks professional to me. My son brought those same Tic Tac's home a few days ago. You didn't miss out too much by not eating them. Red & orange are tasty, but the green were eh and yellow were ewwww. LoL
Have The Best Day Ever!
Aim
Hi Aim, I get that same magazine! I have a Nikon Coolpix P510 bridge camera. It's a good one for what I want to do. Maybe someday I will upgrade to an actual DSLR :) Thanks for coming by and commenting. Have a great weekend!
