Sunday Morning Breakfast on the Beach

~ Psalm 8:1 ~
Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

My dad is in the hospital and has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. He will have surgery (we hope) on Wednesday to try and remove some of the tumor. If it isn't possible to remove any of the tumor, he will have a stint bypass put in. He is in a weakened condition because he hasn't been able to eat solid food in almost seven weeks, and has been on liquid nutrition only. His prognosis, if he survives surgery, is at most 18-24 months and that is if his health was in top condition.

In order to give his wife a break, I've been sitting with him during the day and my son is staying with him at night. This morning we took a break after being here five days and went down to the beach to see the sunrise. It was magnificent!

We enjoyed our coffee and donuts, listening to the seagulls, watching some early morning fishermen, runners, joggers and surfers. It's like a different world down here...

Raw and powerful and peaceful.

Until next time...

  1. Will say a prayer for your Dad, and for you too.

  2. Anne wat mooi en wat heb je het prachtig verwoord.

  3. Oh Anne, I am so deeply sorry to read of your fathers illness. I will say healing prayers for your father, as well as strength and courage for you and your family. Remember to take care of yourself.

All the best to you and your family.

  4. Glad you are both able to be there during this special prayer-filled time alone together. Your breakfast on the beach looks wonderful ~ especially that lemon-filled donut in the corner! Kathleen xx

  5. Keeping you and your family in my prayers, dear friend. I am trusting your dad was able to have the surgery today and all went well.

Your photos are lovely - the beach truly is a place of beauty and relaxation. Sending much love!

  6. I am so sorry, Anne, and will be praying and thinking of you and your family.

  7. Dear Anne,
I will be praying for you and your Dad. Sorry to hear. Everything in God's control though.
The pictures are so powerful telling us how great is God.

Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me - Psalm 50:15

  8. I am so sorry to hear about your father. I hope all goes well with the surgery. I am glad to see you got to see that beautiful sunrise. So much beauty in the world.

I am so delighted that you've taken time to come by and comment. Blessings for a joy-filled day!

1 Corinthians 1:3 ~ Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
