To participate in R5F, just make a blog post and share 5 random facts about you, your day, your pets, your kids, whatever! Then link up at A Rural Journal.
Here's my 5--
1. The photo above has been posted on the blog before but this past
weekend my husband had an 8x10 printed out and framed for his office. Be
still my heart!
2. 100 Years of Langley happens this month and I'm stoked! Can't wait to see up close and personal the airplanes the USAF will be showing off. The sounds of freedom fly over our home daily!!!
3. I didn't get a lightening photo last week. We only had high winds and rain. Phooey!
4. This moma isn't ready to not be 'first in your affections'. Do you know where the reference comes from?
5. Goodwill had an explosion of amazing art on Saturday!

Gorgeous photo. My cousin was stationed at Langley for years. He loved to fly. I need to visit Goodwill more often! Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I need to stay away from Goodwill more often. ;)
ReplyDeleteHello, I love the colorful sailboats. Lately we have been downsizing and donating a lot to Goodwill. I enjoyed your R5F post. Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Eileen! Goodwill has some great treasures. I hope you have a great weekend.
DeleteGreat photo of sailboats!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a big event at the USAF, but I think, the sound of freedom can be very noisefull over your home? The Germans would probably demonstrate against ... (one of the differences between the two states)
Have a sunny weekend
Thanks, Mascha! The sound level doesn't bother me at all. I love it! Most Americans are patriotic and support our military, for which I am thankful. Sunny Weekend to you too! :)
DeleteWhat a gorgeous photo! What I wouldn't give to be out on the water with them. You know, I live in the mountains {which I love}, but I am a water girl at heart thanks to living in Canada right on Lake Huron. Maybe I need to come visit you {{smiles}}
ReplyDeleteWeekend blessings to you! Hugs!
You are most welcome any time, my friend!!! Just say the word.

DeleteThe reference is from North & South by Elizabeth Gaskell. Mrs Thornton spoke the words to her son, John, the evening before he was going to propose to Margaret Hale.
Of course, I bought! :-)
Hi Anne! What fun to see all those airplanes zoom overhead! I didn't know you were a military family? My husband is an ex-Marine.
ReplyDeleteThat sail photo is so clear and gorgeous, love it! Hope you got some fun art at Goodwill. I love just walking the aisles there. Many a treasure buried in it's bins!
Blessings,
Ceil
Hey Ceil, We are an USAF family, and my dad was retired Navy.

Living near the Strategic Air Command Base growing up, we were spoiled by seeing the jets fly over (Blue Angels) for the Base Open House each year. Have fun!
