Monday Morning Musings

Good Morning, Y'all!

It's a lovely sunny morning here in coastal VA. We took a quick trip to NC to attend a wedding over the weekend and had a lovely time. Of course, what isn't lovely about weddings, right??

Our second to youngest nephew married his gorgeous bride on Saturday. It had been 13 years since most of us had attended a wedding, and that long since our youngest son had worn a suit. LOL He was best man this time and even though I know I'm biased, he looked absolutely fabulous in his perfectly tailored JOE Joseph Abboud black suit with a Lavender Mist dress shirt.

The bride and groom did a wonderful job choosing their colors! Bridal attendants all chose their dresses separately with the one stipulation they all be lavender. If they'd gone to a dress shop and chosen them all at the same time, they couldn't have been more perfectly coordinated! The dresses were amazing!!!

I won't be posting photos in respect of their privacy but I must say that the bride looked absolutely stunning in a gown that had some of the most exquisite bead work I've ever seen!!! She also wore the sweetest silver slippers that just glittered! Oh to be a young bride again. :-)

As many of you already know, Feedburner has gone by the wayside for delivering blog content. I'm now using Follow.it to distribute new blog posts. Those of you who were already subscribed to the blog by email have been imported into the new program and should receive an email asking you to confirm your subscription. I'm the first to admit I am not very techie when it comes to these things, so if for some reason you haven't seen an email like that, maybe check your spam folder. That's about the extent of my knowledge in that regard.

If at any time you don't wish to follow the blog anymore, there is an option to unfollow. Of course, I hope you won't do that but I certainly understand if you want to.

Content here is basically staying the same: books, crafts, faith, photography and anything else that strikes my fancy, like a wedding! LOL

  1. Weddings are wonderful. I haven't attended a wedding in a few years, but, love to think back on the joy of the day and the promises for the new couple.

    1. Hahaha It was some kind of fruit punch and very refreshing, especially since it was in the upper 90s that day.

  3. I haven't been to a wedding since 2015.. it was also my nephew and it was just so perfect and wonderful! I'm hoping one day soon to be able to attend my son's wedding as he has been "engaged" for two years now.. and the time never seems right for them. I hope and pray that time comes soon! Nothing better than a wedding to be witness to that new exciting young love.. no matter the age of the bride and groom. It sounds like you had a wonderful time! Marilyn

    1. Hey Marilyn, Yes, watching a young couple pledge their life and love to one another in Christ is a beautiful thing! I look forward to hearing about your son's wedding when it happens. :)

  4. Hi Anne! Thanks for stopping at my blog. In answer to your question, I didn't blog at Mari's Cottage Notes. There are a few other Mari's with an i out there I guess, :)
My daughters middle name is Anne. I think it's pretty with the e on the end.
I haven't been to a wedding for a few years. This one sounds so nice.
I just finished reading Max Lucado - You are never alone. It was a very good book!

    1. hey Mari, I enjoyed my visit to your blog even if you weren't the Mari I was looking for. I thought it such a unique way to spell the name, that I didn't even think about there being another one. LOL
I always thought that Anne without an 'e' was simply dreadful. ;-) It was added to my name on an ID accidentally when I was a young teen and I kept it.
It's been years since I read a Lucado book. I'm currently reading through a non-fiction book on grief by Nancy Guthrie. I also am almost finished with an early copy of Husband Auditions by Angela Ruth Strong. It's a super cute contemporary.

    1. When the photographer (a friend of our family) gets the pictures ready, I will ask my nephew and niece-in-law if I can show any of them. I know I will be able to send you one of my husband, son, and I since they'll be ours.
