Happy Sunday and a Few Spring Images

Song of Solomon 2:11-12
For behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.

Just thought I would share some pictures I took recently with my cell phone. They aren't great but I don't usually have my good camera with me. I probably should! With spring starting to show her glorious colors, I know I have missed some great shots.

I saw this tree exploding with gorgeous pink blossoms in a local parking lot.
I think it's a Cherry Tree.

I went on a restful retreat with some friends from church
and took this underneath the pier at South Nags Head.

Psalm 51:10
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

I decided to change up my re-purposed USAF display on the front porch.
Hooray for yard sale deals. The table was only fifty cents and the
brand new cherry red ceramic planter, $4.00.

We've had a couple of gorgeous afternoons.
I love seeing the reflection of Old Glory in the car outside the fence.

Love this sign! It hangs in our favorite BBQ joint.

Psalm 18:46
The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.

 Have a blessed Lord's Day, Y'all!

 Cor. 13:11
Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.

Happy Resurrection Day 2018!!!

“He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.”
  ~Romans 4:25

“For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth…”
~Job 19:25

“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
~John 11:25-26

Immanuel, God with us in our nature, in our sorrow, in our lifework, in our punishment, in our grave, and now with us, or rather we with Him, in resurrection, ascension, triumph, and Second Advent splendor.
~Charles H. Spurgeon

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
~Col. 3:16-17

God bless you as you celebrate our risen Savior, Christ Jesus, this Resurrection Day!

Monochrome

An V-22 Osprey flew over. Yeah. It's kinda cool when that happens.
You can read more about them here.

A stormy day on the Bay.

Reflection of the railing in the rain soaked balcony.

I'm enjoying making photos in monochrome. They really have a different look about them.

A Quick Visit in 2015

Doh! I meant to post this a month ago but I forgot about it being in my drafts folder.

Our oldest son came in for a quick visit two weeks before Christmas. Even though we would have liked it to have been longer, we are thankful for time together! He was pretty exhausted his first day back so no plans were made to do anything other than sit on the deck and relax. And the weather cooperated! I think this was his first view of the bay from our temporary home. He's saying something like, "Wow. This is a pretty good view." :-)

It was a gorgeous day! The temps were warm and apparently perfect for sailing.

This was a particularly fun trio to watch. They looked like they were having a blast zipping around out there, showing off those colorful sails! All in all, it made for an entertaining afternoon.

But the best part was just sitting across from our son and treasuring the moments spent with him, no matter how short. I'm learning to be thankful for the morsels that God allows to fall my way and not be greedy. One day (or six in our case) is better than none. It gave us an opportunity to talk about lots of things. Military life and its challenges, and all the changes that recently occurred in our family were top on the list. We were able to talk about the importance of our faith in Christ through it all.
Sweet moments!

Romans 1:8-12 (NASB) Bible Gateway
First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, because your faith is being proclaimed throughout the whole world.  For God, whom I serve in my spirit in the preaching of the gospel of His Son, is my witness as to how unceasingly I make mention of you, always in my prayers making request, if perhaps now at last by the will of God I may succeed in coming to you.  For I long to see you so that I may impart some spiritual gift to you, that you may be established;  that is, that I may be encouraged together with you while among you, each of us by the other’s faith, both yours and mine.

Falling Down Fence

These photos were taken with my phone camera while I took a long leisurely walk on the last pretty day this week, Tuesday. Now our weather is all stormy with winds, rain and billowing surf. Not good conditions to go out in, in my book.

This fence is supposed to keep non-paying people out of the fishing pier area at our local beach.

Hmmm....If it's like this now, what will it look like after Hurricane Joaquin arrives this weekend?!

If you think of it, please say a pray for those of us in the path of this CAT 3 storm. I know I'm praying it shifts eastward a little more so we don't get the brunt of it.
