My daddy's backyard has a cozy little wooden patio with this lovely white wrought iron table and chairs. I bought the Sunflowers at the grocery store just so I could take some pictures out here. Regretfully, the humidity was 100% because of the rain each morning and evening, so I didn't get to sit outside and enjoy the peace and quiet. Plus, the mosquitoes are horrible!
The good news is that my daddy did great during surgery! They couldn't get any of the cancer, though, because there is so much of it lining his abdomen, and it has spread to his liver. Hopefully, in a few weeks, he will be able to start chemo. Depending on how he does, he may have 18-24 months. My sister and I had some serious and not-so-serious conversations, and just enjoyed showing him love and support. My son spent each night in the hospital with him, talking military talk and 'men' things. Daddy is a retired Navy veteran (21 yrs of service) and is so happy that my son is enlisting in the US Air Force!
I've received such sweet comments and emails during this time. I appreciate each one of you so much!
