God Gave Us Love board book by Lisa T Bergren ~ Giveaway & FIRST Wild Card Tour

I've been buying children's books since 1983 and I can honestly say I wish that Lisa Bergren's board books had been around  then. I'm a very visual person and absolutely love the illustrations in these books! The colors are soft and draw just enough  attention for the young eye. Not too busy but satisfying for the curious little mind. Some books need to be bold and bright  but with the sweet and loving words that are contained in the pages of these board books I personally feel that's not  necessary here. These are perfect! Not only do they communicate a loving message but they stimulate the artistic eye.

WaterBrook Multnomah sent me an extra book to offer one of my readers. Please leave a comment telling me how you follow  my blog, and what your favorite book was as a child! Email is NOT necessary. US Only, lower 48. Ends Dec 16th so it might get to you by Christmas!

***If you want to go ahead and order a copy now, there's a Special Offer from WaterBrook Multnomah! 30% off and free shipping when you use promo code CHRISTMAS11 at checkout on WaterBrookMultnomah.com. The coupon code expires on December 20th, 2011.

SHORT BOOK DESCRIPTION:

As Little Cub and Grampa Bear’s fishing adventure is interrupted by mischievous otters, the young polar bear begins to question why we must love others… even the seemingly unlovable.

In answering her questions, Grampa Bear gives tender explanations that teach Little Cub about the different kinds of love that is shared between families, friends, and mamas and papas. Grampa explains that all these kinds of love come from God and that it is important to love others because…

“Any time we show love, Little Cub, we’re sharing a bit of his love.”

This sweet tale will warm the hearts of young children as they learn about all the different sorts of love, while the gentle explanations of each provide a valuable opportunity to encourage children to share with others a “God-sized love.” Now in a sturdy format, ideal for the littlest hands at storytime, bedtime, or anytime. Would make a great Christmas gift!

  10. I read the blog when I get an e-mail through acfw. I really like what I see here. It appeals to me more than other blogs. I may subscribe at some point when I have more time to spend here. I am not on Facebook so I can't follow.

As far as a favorite children's book when I was young, that would be hard to say because I did not have many books. I do remember one Golden Book, but I do not know the name of it. It was a simple book and it talked about God and I think it had something about saying prayers.

When my son was young we would go to the library and check out piles of picture books to read together. I feel in love with so many of them. One favorite was Blueberries for Sal.

  14. Hey Janice, Thank you for your kind comments! I am so happy you stopped by. I'm not very good at remembering to post through ACFW sometimes, or post regularly :) That's a curse in the blogging world, I hear!

Golden books are classics and they have some of the sweetest stories around. I think I know the one you are talking about! I bought it not long ago for my grandchildren :)

My children and I have always loved and utilized our local library. We have been blessed to have some great librarians that actually look for books and save them for my sons!I'll have to ask about Blueberries for Sal.
