DIY ~ ♥ Rooster Clock ♥
I've been collecting Roosters and Hens for years. I have them in ceramics, wall art, plates, cups and placemats. The clock I had matched my french country colored kitchen for years, but since repainting this past fall, I really needed to find a new clock. My old one looked like this. Isn't she cute even with her guts removed?
I couldn't find one I liked so I found this plaque at Kirkland's, on clearance, for $7.00. It makes a perfect clock, once modified. My husband and youngest son took the components out of the old clock, drilled a hole in the plaque, and voila! I have a new clock...
It's really perfect for my new colors as they are coffee and cream! Plus, we're huge coffee addicts. We had a big discussion about being able to tell the time. There are those in our family who are challenged without numbers on the clock face :) I am not one of them!
Can you guess how we tell what time it is?
I know it's not Thursday, so technically it's not a Rural Thursday post, but I am linking up now since I just found the hop :)
I hope you'll link up with Rural Thursday today! To join, go to Two Bears Farm and follow her directions! Be sure to take a minute to visit co-host Nancy at A Rural Journal and at least 3-5 other folks who link up. The visiting is what makes blog hops so fun! Remember, you don't have to be rural to join in - just have a rural mindset. Posts about crafts, canning, your best pie recipe, your Sunday hike, your pet goat - we want to see them all!
