Pumpkin Spider!

They are venomous.
This one bit my husband. Considering it was camouflaged in the leaves, it is not a surprise. Thankfully, it was a dry bite and he is fine....so far.
It totally creeps me out! Right now, it's housed in a canning jar awaiting its fate. Wonder what it will be?
Have you seen one of these?!
I'm linked with Rural Thursday.
Ewww!! I am NOT a fan of spiders. I have never seen one of these before. We have a lot of black widows in our firewood so we have to be careful when we gather it. I am very glad your husband is okay. I hope you're having a good weekend, my friend!

Stephanie
We've been here 13 1/2 years and have never seen one! I read where the egg sack can have up to 800 eggs in it...EWWW for sure!!!
DeleteWhat a scary looking spider. I'm so sorry your husband was bit by it. I hope he doesn't suffer any ill effects.
ReplyDeleteHey Keli,
DeleteI pretty much freaked when I saw it :) He seems to be fine though.
I do hope your husband is all right -- that is one crazy looking spider! :)
ReplyDeleteNancy,
DeleteNot anymore ;) Husband is doing fine.
I DO NOT LIKE SPIDERS!!!! CREEPY....I can tell you what I would do...the words FLATTER THAN A PANCAKE comes to mind! LOL!! As long as it's someone else's foot doing it! :)
ReplyDeletePS I hope your hubby will be ok.
DeleteYou are so funny, Teresa! I wasn't brave enough to be the one to end its life either :)
DeleteThat is the most beautiful frightening thing I have ever seen. Scary that it may hurt your poor husband. How can something so beautiful and with such a cool name be so evil. B
ReplyDeleteYes, it is scary & beautiful at the same time. Not the kind of pumpkin you want around :)
DeleteThat's a beautiful spider but not so nice that it bit J. Hope he's ok. BTW, I've tagged you for a game of blog-tag! I'll be posting the details momentarily and I'd love it if you would play along. It is a great way to get to know other bloggers.
ReplyDeleteWhoa! I've never seen anything like that! Hope your husband has no reaction from it!
