(or one like it since I got this image off Google Images)
It was HUGE!!! And it stopped moving as soon as the light hit it, and so did we! All 3 of us FROZE!
Then the bugger started moving toward the house so we cut off the light and waited for the inevitable stink to come....Nope, he just sauntered right on by while we stood frozen to the spot.
Whew!!! that was a close one.
He could have been rabid! We have rabid skunks bite out dogs and chase my dad! Got a gun handy?
ReplyDeleteHi Carmen! Thanks for commenting. We're so far out in the country it's not unusual to have a skunk around, but the sounds he was making were quite disturbing. If he comes around during the day our neighbor will definitely take care of him :)
ReplyDeleteAwww, but Flower won't hurt anybody... :)
ReplyDeleteWow, you all have all the fun living in the country!! Glad he didn't spray though! :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously close!! That could have been awful, especially with your window open!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great rest of your weekend!
Glad he didn't spray! As a child I once accidently pulled on a skunks tail thinking it was a cat. It had been out in the barn under a wooden pallet and couldn't raise it's tail to spray. I still remember how fast Daddy carried me away when he saw what it was! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Mary Ann! Thanks for stopping by. I've never been close enough to touch one, and hope that never happens! We did have a mommy skunk raising her 5 babies under our barn one Spring, and she would bring them out into the yard during the day to eat. They were so cute BUT...we stayed real still inside when we knew she was out there :)
