This week I took a lot of pictures. I mean, I begged my husband for a camera over a year ago and mostly just take pictures of the grand babies. But I am beginning to see there are other things, fun & weird, that need to be documented.
So I started with the apricot tree blossoms...
a really weird egg that looks like it is ready to split open...
our front door bell (porch is under construction, hence the missing siding & floor)...
sign we hung on the wall of the front porch...
some wild turkeys...
I know its hard to see them but they were there :)
and then this one...
Sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words!
That wasn't all the strange stuff this week but it was a good start! I think I carried my camera everywhere I went. Now I just need to learn how to edit them.
I hope you're all having a great time in your prospective rural places!
Images are mine. Please don't take them without asking. Not that anyone would want them. I'm just sayin'.
Wow, I wouldn't want to follow too close behind that truck!
ReplyDeleteI know! My camera was on zoom and then when I cropped it, it looked like I was even closer :)
Deleteha, i wonder what he's haulin? love your doorbell!
ReplyDeleteWe think he was headed to the scrap yard. People actually steal stuff like that around here! We kind of love our doorbell too. My brother nicknamed our place Green Acres many years ago and it seemed to suit :)
DeleteNice shots, especially I like the first one.
ReplyDeleteRegards and best wishes
Thank you! I appreciate you coming by and commenting :) I'm hopping over to your blog now!
DeleteGeez, could that guy fit any more stuff on that truck bed? Lol.
ReplyDeleteCute dinner/door bell. I have a small one with a rooster on top. :)
My first thought when I saw the truck was, Oh my gosh, only in the country!
DeleteYes, the "cow bell" makes a great dinner bell, especially in the summer!
LOL! Gorgeous photos, Anne! That last one made me laugh! I've seen very similar hauling methods.
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's a funny one :)
DeleteCouldn't find an email to email you at so here I am answering your question about how I did the bright blue Pepsi can against the black and white background.
ReplyDeleteIt was easy! I used Picasa3. I just selected the picture I wanted to edit and went to the Effects tab and clicked Focal B&W.
I wish people would take the time to consider what putting their garbage in a can would do for the environment.
Thanks for visiting my blog, I hope you'll come again!
Tayet
Thank you, Tayet! I didn't realize my email address wasn't showing. I fixed that :)
DeleteI will definitely be returning to your blog!
it's amazing what you will find in the country. not sure ever what you will have to follow behind. hilarious!! hopped over thanks to the rural thursday hop. take care. (:
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by! It's always an event in the country :)
DeleteHey, Ann...nice to meet you! Thanks for stopping by! I need to learn to edit photos too!!! I just don't seem to have the time!!!..:)JP
ReplyDeleteI loved your photos! Appreciate you taking time to come by and comment :)
DeleteHuh...I wonder why the egg has a groove in it? My hens come up with these oddballs every once in awhile. I think they do it just to see if I'm paying attention.
ReplyDeleteLove your sign on your porch. I've been looking all over the place for an old chicken feed sign and haven't been able to find one.
We've had some odd eggs over the years but never one like this one.... totally striated marks & weird.
DeleteI think the sign was purchased at Kirkland's years ago but I'd have to ask my husband. He'll remember for sure :)
Well, I loved following you around and seeing your sites...You just never know what's around the corner, uh? Wonder what next week will hold......Have a great Saturday...
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy! It's funny how the week is shaping up already and what I am seeing :) Looking forward to sharing.
