  1. Historical fiction is my favorite genre to read because I love learning about history in a non-textbookie way, investing in the lives of the characters, and living out history right along with them. :)

Thank you for the chance to win these two books!! ~Alison Boss

    2. I definitely prefer learning about historical places and events through the eyes and ears of a story . . . makes it much fun!

  2. I am the classic reader who will read the back of cereal boxes if there's nothing else handy and I enjoy many genres, especially historical fiction. I have always loved history but historical fiction allows me to keep learning as I satisfy my need to read.
    Thanks for a great giveaway.

  3. I love learning about interesting times in history. I’ve learned far more from fiction than I learned in school...and so much interesting historical detail, too! Following GFC ewe_r_merritt at yahoo dot com

    1. Same here. I remember so much more of what I read in a story . . . I guess it becomes personal.

  4. I enjoy the inner strength the people have in living then and how 'usually' everyone helps each other. I know it was a different time and the hard work they had to do was normal, we have gotten 'spoiled' with all of the conveniences we have now, don't get me wrong I definitely appreciated the conveniences especially air conditioning in the summer, central heat in the winter, etc.

I already follow you by GFC.

    1. Great point . . . I always feel like Oz's scarecrow; no courage . . . after reading stories like these.

  5. I have always loved historical fiction, mostly because I always feel that I learn something when reading it. There are so many parts of history I know little about.

  6. Historical fiction is one of my favorite genres, because I always learn things about the time period the books are set in. It's fun to imagine what life was like back then.

    1. I couldn't agree more. The older I become, the more precious history becomes. It makes me wonder.

  10. I love historical fiction because it feels like being in another time period temporarily, plus I can learn some history. My email is iwant2save34 at gmail dot com. Followed on GFC as Beautyinthebinding. :)

  11. Yes . . . temporarily, being the key word. As much as I love stepping into the past, I generally become more thankful that I live in the present.

  12. I like historical fiction because I get to learn something while I read. It makes me want to google stuff!
