I'm not sure if these actually qualify for Tea Cup Tuesday,
but I'll give it a shot.
I picked up this lovely cup & saucer at a yard sale this weekend. A young girl, about 8 years old, was sitting at a separate table in her driveway offering her wares. She told me I could have the set for a dollar. I didn't even bargain. I was sure she could use the dollar and I figured it was a deal, even though there are a couple of teeny tiny chips.
As you can see, it's stamped Kensington, Staffordshire, Ironstone, England, Balmoral, 1801. I have no idea what all this means :) I am not an afficionado when it comes to china or dinnerware.
Anyone have any of these pieces?
My next find was this delicate leaf dish from Norcrest Fine China, Made in Japan. It's their Sweet Violets pattern, trimmed in gold.
I know. It's not a teacup, or a teapot, but it is pretty china :) I think it may be for candy.
Apparently I like taking photos out on my deck.
It looks so cool as a back drop!
Maybe one day I'll try and make it look like a place setting, but don't hold your breath :)
Most of the pieces to this set that I could find on the internet are numbered, just like this one. I believe it says 3/317, but it is a little, Ok, a lot smudged so I can't be absolutely certain.
I could not, however, find this particular piece anywhere on the internet!
Does anyone have one of these?
Images are mine. Please don't take them without asking. Not that anyone would want them. I'm just sayin'.
Thanks for coming by!
Have a great day in the Lord!
I am linked up with Tea Cup Tuesday!
Hello Anne,
ReplyDeleteYour teacup is very pretty. I like blue and white and I would be happy to have you share this next week at Tea Time! Your leaf dish is lovely too; love the little violets. Thanks for your visit and have a nice weekend.
