Welcome to Random 5 Friday -- where you share 5 random facts about you, your day, your pets, your kids, whatever!
"Move your feet, lose your seat!"
1. My kitty, Smudge. This is what she does most of the day. If she knows you have gotten up from a chair or out of the bed, she takes your place, immediately curling up and falling asleep.
2. The winds blew so hard here on Wednesday that the roof of an old shed on our property collapsed. It's pretty good sized so we have some serious clean up to be done.
3. My husband bought me a car. It matches his. How silly is that?! I am looking for Duke/Carolina front license plates so we can tell them apart ;)
4. Now if I could only get him to buy me another camera. I really miss not having my camera available whenever I want it. Of course, I always want it when my son has it at school.
5. I have five art journal pages that I am working on at once. Of course, you'll notice I haven't made any photos or posts about them because I never have my camera when I think of it. Oh. Did I mention the camera thing again?

Have a blessed day in the Lord!
What a pretty kitty - a perfect companion for our black Molly-cat!
ReplyDeleteA great Random 5 and have a fabulous Friday :)
Thanks, Claire! We had two black cats over 20 yrs ago, a brother and sister.
DeleteSmudge is beautiful, we've one dog and 3 cats that do this too. Number three, how lucky are you :-). I enjoy seeing your journal entries, (maybe a little bird could whisper in hubby's ear).
ReplyDeleteHey Lynn, I am blessed! But I'm not holding out for a new camera. I hope when my son is done with his class it will be all mine again :)
DeleteGorgeous kitty / that was some wind...ugh, sorry about your shed :(
ReplyDeleteThanks, Deb! I was just glad that was the only damage we had :)
DeleteYes! A new camera would be such fun! Smudge is adorable, and a funny name for a pretty white cat! I guess you husband likes his car - hey if you find something you like, stick with it :-) have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteHi Karen, Smudge came about because of that little 'smudge' of gray on the top of her head. The car just happened but I am happy to have one of my own again. The plates will help distinguish which one belongs to whom(?) :)
DeleteI can totally appreciate the whole 'move it or lose it' with cats - my cat Ike has radar set for the computer chair. As for the camera situation, my camera was constantly in the hands of my son who is heading off to college to major in art and photography - so my husband surprised me with a new one. Shocked doesn't begin to express my reaction. Ecstatic is an understatement.
ReplyDeleteHi Nicki, My son is an art major as well, concentrating in Concept Design. I would be shocked and ecstatic if my husband bought me a new camera, as well!
DeleteI miss having a cat, she is adorable. Hope you are able to get another camera soon!
ReplyDeleteHi Brandi, Smudge is a sweet girl....most of the time :)
DeleteOur cat Jack does the same thing -- I'm constantly moving her from one chair to another... :)
ReplyDeleteHey Nancy, I love that you named 'her' Jack!
Deletemy in-laws have the very same car & color too. it is nuts. i guess it was a good deal. but i wonder how they decide which to drive & which one is which??! confusing to me. you need to do things that don't make the brain hurt. right??!
ReplyDeletethe winds were nuts ... & are still not totally calm around here. i had to bring in the wind chimes they were knocking on the house. a little too chimey to me. ( :
Hi Beth, Ours match on the outside. Mine is an automatic so he would notice if he got in the wrong one. We just sort of fell into buying it while his was getting an oil change :)
DeleteYep ... I hear you about the camera. Why is it never around when we need it most?
ReplyDeleteHave a super weekend ... with or without the lens!
;-}
Hi Linda, Oh I know what you mean, especially when I am siting on the porch and a pretty bird comes to the feeder. I should attach my camera to my hip!
DeleteNeat picture of your kitty. My Boston Terrier can usually be found sleeping in the sun beam.
ReplyDeleteHi Robyn, Yes, Smudge loves to lay where the sun comes in, which just happens to be on my bed!
Deletesounds like you need another camera! ;) Smudge is just like my kitties -- prefer the warm spot i've left! good luck with the license plates ... happy friday!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday, Snap! Don't think another camera is in the works so I will have to sneak it from my son ;)
DeleteSmudge is such a cutie pie! And you made me giggle about your matching cars - how cute is that! :) Enjoy your weekend, lovely lady. Hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteHey Stephanie! Yep. We're just a laugh a minute ;) {{hugs}} right back at ya'.
DeletePretty kitty. I would miss my camera too if it was away. I have started keeping it out of the bag and as a result I use it much more.
ReplyDeleteHi Abrianna, When I am in possession of mine, I leave it laying around so I can get to it faster. It's amazing how difficult a camera bag can be to unzip! :)
DeleteWhat a nice cat! (I wish my would sleep more often ... it runs all day in front of my feet, sigh - )
ReplyDeleteRemember me on a painting

Have a great weekend
Oh Mascha, I WISH my cat was active during the day. She goes nuts at night, running all over the house and jumping on the counters. She has been known to pounce and scare the willies out of us while we're sleeping :)
DeleteAnd thank you for the link tot he sweet kitty painting! Looks almost like my Smudge :) Have a great weekend!!!
DeleteCute kitty- no, I don't think you mentioned the camera...LOL!
ReplyDeleteHey Terri, Yeah, I thought I was being kind of subtle, but maybe not ;)
DeleteSmudge is a perfect name for your kitty! Lately, I've been using my iPhone camera more than my DSLR - it's just lighter an handier plus I like the editing apps.
ReplyDeleteHi Barb, I hear the iPhone makes very good pictures but I only have an old, old cell phone. Maybe I should ask for an iPhone instead ;)
DeleteWell, naturally, Smudge knows you have warmed that spot just for her ... why else would you be leaving? As for the camera thing, you need to talk to your husband about priorities ... camera's first, then new cars, right? I would be lost without a camera at my side ... I feel for you :)
ReplyDeleteAndrea @ From The Sol
Beautiful shot of Smudge -- what peace and contentment. Cats know how to relax :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cat! Good luck with the camera. Don't know what I would do without mine. But, hey, good for you on the new car!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cuddly looking kitty cat . . .
ReplyDeleteTwin cars . . . how cute!
I hope your camera finds its way back into your grasp!
Hi Anne! I have missed you. Seems like winter whisked me away from my normal routines....often just snuggling up to stay warm. I started art journaling this winter too by participating in my friend Kel Rohlf's Souldare challenges. It has been a fun and addicting way to explore my created self....and express my daily walk with the Jesus. I can't wait to see what you are doing with art journaling. Sharing a camera - especially when it had become so much a part of you, must indeed be hard. And a car the same as your husbands? Well, that keeps things simple I guess. Who would have imagined? And I bet you have some warm seats to rest in! I've missed you - HUGS sweet friend.
